Equipping our learners with skills and evidence-based strategies in writing improves their abilities and increases their chances for success on high stakes exams. This interactive workshop will build practitioner knowledge and expertise in teaching writing skills necessary for success on the HiSET and beyond. Our focus on informational texts connects to the real-world tasks we ask of our adult learners as they prepare for their high school equivalency exam. Participants will be provided with resources, and will be prompted to plan for implementing the resources in their classrooms.
